Jonathan Clay "J. J." Redick

Early Life and Career

Born on June 24, 1984, in Cookeville, Tennessee, J. J. Redick began his basketball journey at Cave Spring Middle School and later Cave Spring High School. He went on to play for Duke University, where he helped lead the Blue Devils to an NCAA Championship in 2004.

Professional Career

Redick was selected 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2006 NBA Draft. He spent four seasons with the Magic before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2010. After a brief stint in Milwaukee, he played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 2013 to 2017. Redick then joined the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played from 2017 to 2019.

Retirement and Post-Playing Career

Redick announced his retirement from the NBA in 2021 after 15 seasons. He is now a well-respected basketball analyst and podcaster. In 2023, he joined ESPN as an NBA analyst.

Legacy

Redick is widely regarded as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. He holds the record for most consecutive free throws made (50). Off the court, he is known for his intelligence and his charitable work. He is a co-founder of the JJ Redick Foundation, which supports organizations that promote youth basketball and education.
